Welcome to the English Translation Program,
In this age of globalization and IT revolution, contacts between nations in all fields of knowledge and experience have multiplied considerably. Consequently, translation as a means of inter-lingual communication has become indispensable for removing the barrier of language that impedes the exchange of views and information between speakers of different cultures and languages.
The Translation Program, started in 2007, with the aim of providing the community with skilled graduates apt, not only to transfer the content of texts from one language to the next, but also to bridge the divides of language and culture that exist between nations.
The translation program is designed to train students in English and Arabic translation through practical courses in translating various types of texts, both written and oral.
The Program is relevant to the mission of Sohag University in that it caters for the community’s need for graduates proficient in Translation and its applications. It provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to succeed in their prospective future careers in the area of Translation as well as in other areas that require the use of English. The program courses prepare students for a life-long career.
