Establishing a distinguished scientific and training environment that contributes to qualifying those enrolled in the program in the fields of print and electronic journalism, and to prepare graduates with high capabilities and competencies to compete in the labor market and accommodate its need.
أهداف برنامج الصحافة
1-توفير مستوي تعليمي عال يؤهل الطلاب الملتحقين لعمل مهني رفيع في مجال الصحافة الورقية والإلكترونية .
2- تدريب الطلاب على أحدث أساليب الكتابة الصحفية للصحف المطبوعة والإلكترونية .
3- تدريب الطلاب على أساليب التصميم الحديثة للصحف والمواقع الإلكترونية .
4- تدريب الطلاب علي التفكير النقدي بما يساعدهم على حل المشكلات التي يتعرضوا لها أثناء ممارساتهم العمل الصحفي .
5- توفير المعرفة العلمية والتدريبات العملية اللازمة للطلبة ليكونوا متميزين ومنافسين في سوق العمل .
6- تخريج متخصصين قادرين على العمل بكفاءة عالية وفاعلية في مجالات الصحافة الورقية والإلكترونية .
7- تعريف الطلاب بقواعد البحث العلمي وتدريبهم على إجراء البحوث والدراسات الصحفية المتخصصة وطرق قياس الرأي العام بدقة وموضوعية .

السمات المميزة لبرنامج الصحافة
يعد برنامج الصحافة من أقدم البرامج بكلية الآداب بجامعة سوهاج منذ نشأتها ، وأقدم برنامج للصحافة بعد برنامج الصحافة بكلية الإعلام جامعة القاهرة في الجامعات المصرية ، حيث أنشئ قسم الإعلام بسوهاج تحت مسمي ” قسم الصحافة ” قبل تحويله لقسم الإعلام .
يتوفر بالبرنامج عدد كاف من أعضاء هيئة التدريس من العاملين به المؤهلين ، وكذا من أعضاء الهيئة المعاونة القادرين علي تحقيق أهداف البرنامج والذين يتسمون بالتميز العلمي ، ويحملون خبرات وأخلاقيات مهنية وأكاديمية جاذبة .
تسهم الدراسة بالبرنامج في الخروج بالطالب من المعرفة النظرية إلي الممارسة المهنية ، من خلال تعريفه وتدريبه علي عناصر العمل الصحفي بداية من جمع المعلومات والتمييز بين فنون التحرير الصحفي ، وحتي فنيات الإخراج الصحفي التقليدي المطبوع والإلكتروني علي شبكة الإنترنت .
تتوافق الدراسة بالقسم مع احتياجات سوق العمل الصحفي ، بحيث تتيح لخريج القسم العمل في الصحف المطبوعة التقليدية ، والصحف الإلكترونية علي كافة المستويات المحلية والإقليمية والدولية .
يتواصل البرنامج مع الجامعات المحلية والإقليمية والدولية ، بجانب التواصل مع الصحف التقليدية والإلكترونية ، وهوما يتجلى في دورات وورش تدريب ، وأنشطة صحفية .
يتوافر للبرنامج تجهيزات متميزة من معمل إنتاج صحفي ، تصدر عنه جريد ة ” أخبار الجامعة ” لتدريب الطلاب ، مما يحسن جودة التعلم التطبيقي للطلاب بالبرنامج .
يعمل ما يقرب من 1600 صحفي من خريجي القسم في كافة المؤسسات الصحفية ( بالصحف المطبوعة والإلكترونية ) المصرية والعربية ، والكثير منهم تقلد مناصب قيادية بتلك المؤسسات ، ويحملون جميعا عضوية نقابة الصحفيين المصرية .
يستقطب البرنامج الطلاب الوافدين للدراسات العليا لما يتسم به البرنامج من سمعة وتميز علمي جاذب .
تم تصميم المقررات الدراسية بالبرنامج بحيث تتضمن علاقة الصحافة بكافة العلوم الآخري وبالتالي تتنوع الدراسات البينية التي يمكن القيام بها في إطار البرنامج .
Journalism Program Features
The journalism program is one of the oldest programs at the Faculty of Arts at Sohag University since its inception, and the oldest journalism program after the journalism program at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University in Egyptian universities.
– The program has a sufficient number of qualified faculty members, as well as members of the supporting staff who are able to achieve the objectives of the program and who are distinguished by scientific excellence, and have attractive professional and academic experience and ethics.
The study in the program contributes to educating the student from theoretical knowledge to professional practice, by introducing him and training him on the elements of journalistic work, starting from collecting information and distinguishing between the arts of journalistic editing, and even the techniques of traditional print and electronic journalism production on the Internet.
The study in the department is compatible with the needs of the journalistic labor market, as it allows the graduate of the department to work in traditional print newspapers and electronic newspapers at all local, regional and international levels.
– The program communicates with local, regional and international universities, in addition to communicating with traditional and electronic newspapers, which is reflected in training courses and workshops, and journalistic activities.
– The program has distinguished equipment from a press production laboratory, from which the “University News” newspaper is published to train students, which improves the quality of applied learning for students in the program.
– Approximately 1,600 graduate journalists work in all Egyptian and Arab press institutions (printed and electronic newspapers), and many of them hold leadership positions in those institutions, and they all hold membership in the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate.
– The program attracts foreign students for postgraduate studies because of the program’s reputation and attractive scientific distinction.
– The courses in the program are designed to include the relationship of journalism with all other sciences, and therefore the interdisciplinary studies that can be carried out within the framework of the program vary.
