Sohag University organized a protest march after performing Friday prayers yesterday. It started from the university’s old headquarters east of the Nile in Nasser City, Down to Young Square. The march was led by Dr. Hassan Noman, President of Sohag University, the vice presidents of the university, and the deans and Vice deans of faculties. A large crowd of workers and thousands participated in it. University students, led by Students for Egypt, were joined by thousands of fans from the governorate, raising Egyptian and Palestinian flags, declaring their support for the people of Gaza and the brothers in Palestine.

The march came in light of the dangerous developments that the Palestinian issue is going through, the heart of the Arab nation’s issues, and a decisive rejection of the barbaric attacks of the occupying state against our Palestinian brothers in proud Gaza and the steadfast West Bank, and an affirmation of the unity of the Egyptian people and their state in the face of the threats to liquidate the Palestinian issue, and to undermine Egypt’s national security and the integrity of its lands.

On the sidelines of the march ; Dr. Hassan Noman confirmed that this rally is a clear message to everyone that the people of Egypt stand united in defense of the security and interests of their country, and support without limits for all the issues of their Arab nation, most notably the Palestinian issue, and that they will not allow it to be liquidated in any way, and that they support by all means the steadfastness of the Palestinian people towards The barbaric aggression of the occupying state, and that it tirelessly supports this brotherly people until they obtain all their legitimate rights approved by the resolutions of international legitimacy, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state on their lands before June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. We appreciate President El-Sisi’s call for all countries of the world – especially major and influential countries – to intervene to stop and condemn these violations, and to demand that Israel stop targeting the vicinity of the Rafah crossing to enable Egypt and quickly bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip .

During the march; The chants of the participants rose, chanting: With our soul and blood, we will redeem you, O Al-Aqsa… With our soul, with our blood, we will redeem you, O Al-Aqsa… I bear witness, O time, I bear witness, O history. They killed children with missiles… Say, President, and we are with you. Say, Sisi, and we are behind you… Gaza, Gaza, the land of pride.
