Within the framework of the university\u2019s orientation to expand memorandums of understanding and areas of cooperation with external and internal parties , with the aim of raising the efficiency of performance at various scientific , research and health levels and exchanging experiences , Sohag University signed a cooperation protocol with the German University of Oldenburg , in addition to a scientific and academic cooperation agreement with the Libyan University of Zawia al-Gharbiyya .<\/h3>\n

Health aspect :<\/h3>\n

Via Zoom technology ; Dr . Hassan Noaman , President of Sohag University , held a meeting with a delegation from the German University of Oldenburg , to discuss signing a medical cooperation protocol to establish a unit specialized in conducting comprehensive screening tests for early detection and treatment of hearing impairment and loss in newborn children at the university hospital . The following participated in it : Ambassador Khaled Jalal Ambassador Egypt in Germany , Stephen Albani , a member of the German Parliament in Berlin, Wolf Schmidt , representative of the Rotary International Group in Germany , and Dr . Rodger Schaufeld at the Hearing Center at the German University .<\/h3>\n

According to the protocol ; The university president explained that a unit equipped at the highest level for newborns will be established to conduct comprehensive screening for early detection of hearing loss. He stressed that – through the unit – high -quality health care will be provided , and the latest treatment methods will be followed, in cooperation with Rotary Germany, in addition to training a number of doctors from the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oldenburg in Germany , with the aim of forming an integrated medical team at the level of High professional competence , to provide therapeutic services to children in Sohag Governorate and neighboring Upper Egypt governorates . Pointing out that 5% of the world’s population suffers from hearing loss , including 32 million children .<\/h3>\n

Scientific aspect :<\/h3>\n

In order to activate the scientific and academic cooperation agreement between Sohag University and the Libyan University of \u201cAl-Zawia Al-Gharbiyya\u201d ; Dr . Hassan Noaman held a meeting – at Sohag University lounge in Cairo – with Ismail Al – Hadi Obaid the cultural and academic attach\u00e9 at the Libyan Embassy in Cairo , and in the presence of : Dr . Mahmoud Jadour Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs at Zawia University , Dr . Ismail Al – Akash Dean of the Faculty of Science at Zawia University , and Dr . Sami Issa Director of the Office International Cooperation at Zawia University , Dr . Ahmed Al-Saghir , responsible for expatriate affairs at Sohag\u00a0University\u00a0.<\/h3>\n

The meeting discussed mechanisms for joint scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities , with the aim of providing educational services to students at the highest level of quality to meet the requirements of the future labor market , in addition to exchanging joint practical experiences .<\/h3>\n

The meeting also discussed mechanisms for increasing the number of Expatriates Libyan students at the university , where Dr . Hassan Noaman confirmed that Sohag University provides all aspects of support and the best means of education , and overcomes all difficulties that Expatriates students\u00a0may\u00a0face\u00a0.<\/h3>\n

On the sidelines of the meeting : Dr . Mahmoud Jadour and Ismail Al-Hadi praised the scientific and academic reputation enjoyed by Sohag University among Egyptian and Arab scientific circles , and the tangible progress it achieved in the education\u00a0sector\u00a0.<\/h3>\n
