Center Goals
1- Cooperating with the university in carrying out its mission in all fields of education with the aim of solving real problems inside and outside the university.
2- Strengthening cultural and scientific ties with universities, institutes, centers and scientific bodies related to Mediterranean civilizations at the local, regional and global levels, through official scientific channels, to provide an opportunity for scientific training for Egyptian researchers.
3- Organizing and holding conferences, seminars, workshops and courses related to the nature of the center’s general objectives. Such as courses in the languages of the Mediterranean civilizations (the ancient Egyptian language, the Coptic language, the Aramaic language, the Ottoman Turkish language, the Greek language, the Latin language, and the Italian language). As well as courses in archeology and restoration of antiquities and manuscripts.
4- Providing scientific and technical expertise in the matter of Mediterranean civilizations; At the request of the authorities and bodies; in its introduction: the ministries of higher education and scientific research, culture, antiquities, media, foreign affairs, environment, irrigation and agriculture.
5- Contributing to training, educating and raising the efficiency and knowledge of individuals and government institutions and the importance of Mediterranean civilizations, its archaeological treasures, and its history.
6- Providing a basic base of information related to the center’s fields of activity to meet the needs of researchers.
7- Developing environmental and national awareness among students, researchers, and specialists in the field of Mediterranean civilizations, and developing critical scientific awareness among researchers and specialists, especially in dealing with foreign sources and references. Providing a specialized Arabic critical reference to gain the trust and respect of specialists and those interested in these studies.
8- Issuing an international scientific journal in the name of the Center “Journal of the Center for Mediterranean Civilizations” (BCMC), which is concerned with publishing research and specialized articles in the field of Mediterranean civilizations.
