The faculty members of the department provide educational services represented in teaching geography courses with its various specializations to students of the Faculty of Arts. In addition to teaching courses for the following departments of the Faculty of Arts: history, sociology, media, Arabic language, Islamic studies, Egyptian antiquities, oriental languages.
In addition to teaching geography subjects to students of the College of Education, in the departments of geography, history, and social subjects.
The department also teaches tourism geography for students of the Archeology and Tourist Guidance Program in the Open Education Program at the university.

The scientific specializations of the faculty members in the department are diverse and cover many different fields in geography, including: physical geography (geomorphology – climate – fresh water), human geography (population – cities – urban planning – industry – agriculture – minerals and energy – transportation – politics – history).
